More than 100,000 university students, children, and teachers took to the streets in cities across Germany to protest at an educational system they called underfunded and unfair.
Activists blocked the entrances to university buildings, occupied administrative offices, and marched in protest parades in cities including Berlin and Munich, as well as in university towns such as Heidelberg and Goettingen.
Oil refinery wildcat enters third day

Strikes at the Lindsey oil refinery in North Lincolshire entered their third day today as talks between business leaders and employees broke down.
The unofficial strike action began at Lindsey Oil Refinery on Saturday as in protest over the loss of 51 jobs, cut by a sub-contractor while another employer on the site was hiring workers.

Disputed Peru land laws suspended

Peru's parliament has suspended two land laws that triggered deadly clashes between police and protesters.
At least 54 people, including some police officers, died after violence erupted on Friday between security forces and indigenous protesters.
The laws are designed to regulate investment in the Amazon, but indigenous groups say they will lose control of their natural resources.
They have been demonstrating for months, blocking roads and waterways.

Around 15 Mogadishu-based journalists held a press conference, two days after the director of private radio Shabelle, Mokhtar Mohamed Hirabe, was assassinated in broad daylight in the capital.

A newly formed tenant association bused to City Hall on Thursday, May 28 to protest sorry conditions and crooked management in Highbridge. The landlord of 1380 University Avenue has accumulated 32 building code violations and 263 housing violations at the 18-story tower. He owes Con Edison more than $120,000 and has constructed illegal partitions.

Bethlehem - A Palestinian demonstrator was killed and another injured after Israeli forces opened fire at an anti-wall rally in the West Bank village of Ni’lin on Friday.
The slain Palestinian was identified as Yousef Akel Sadiq Srour, 36, who was shot in the chest with live fire, according to medics at the scene.
