are calling it Hopenhagen, but everybody I know is calling it
Cop-enhagen, which seems far more appropriate. The international media
has been giving this lots of coverage, and rightly so. Of course much
of the media is unable to walk and chew gum at the same time, so other

CALL FOR ENTRIES- 10th ANNUAL CHICAGO ANARCHIST FILM FEST!

For those not counting, 2010 will be the 10th annual Chicago Anarchist Film Festival. As always, we will present a sample of films from mainstream sources, rediscovered classics and the works of filmmakers engaged in social change with an anarchist vision.

Organizers are now seeking un- and under-distributed films and videos to include in the 2010 Chicago Anarchist Film Festival.
We also welcome suggestions for titles that may inadvertently allow anarchy to seep through the cracks of the status quo. Movie collage, music videos and trailers for works-in-progress will also be considered. Deadline- April 1, 2010  read more »

Canada's 'Prince of Pot' at war with US drug war

By JEREMY HAINSWORTH, Associated Press Writer Sun May 31, 2009

VANCOUVER, British Columbia – Psychedelic rock booms through The Vapour Lounge. In the store, young and some not-so-young people smoke pot through a variety of devices. And owner Marc Emery stands in the middle of it all, proclaiming his goal of defeating the U.S. war on drugs.

Known as the Prince of Pot, Emery has sold millions of marijuana seeds around the world by mail over the past decade. In doing so, he has drawn the attention of U.S. drug officials, who want him extradited to Seattle. Emery has agreed to plead guilty in Seattle to one count of marijuana distribution in exchange for dismissal of all other counts, and the U.S. District Attorney is pressing for a sentence of five to eight years in a U.S. prison.  read more »

For the 9th year the Chicago Anarchist Film Festival will present a sample of films from mainstream sources, rediscovered classics and the works of filmmakers engaged in social change with an anarchist vision.
