Garifuna community is located in the municipality of Iriona, Department
of Colón, about 2 hours on a dirt road from the capital city of Tocoa.
It is in this community that the first Garifuna People's Hospital of
Honduras was strategically built and was declared real and intangible
Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.

As in the past, the training will last a 3-day weekend--June 11th -13th (Fri 5-9, Sat/Sun 9-6) and we are hoping to see faces both new & old. Out-of-towners will be accommodated, as well as other needs to the extent possible. Some food will be provided. Childcare references are available upon request.

Bill Moyers recently critiqued the role of Democrats in the health care debate. (Photo: GPB Television)
Bill Moyers has been a frequent critic of the Republican Party over the years, making his critique of the Democratic Party on 'Real Time' more exceptional.
PBS's Bill Moyers issued a tough critique of the Democratic Party on Friday night on HBO's "Real Time With Bill Maher."
Moyers, whose comments focused on the recent health care debate, said that "too many Democrats have had their spines surgically removed."

Perspective
Submitted by Anonymous on 19 February 2009 - 5:26pmSomeone please define "free market".
I was taught in Economics that at best, the "market" was an abstraction. The supply and demand mythology of Classical and Neo-Classical Economics are such a gross misrepresentation of reality that they can only be viewed as marginally helpful abstractions.
There is no such thing as a "free-market economy".
"Command and control" is an incendiary propaganda term for Communist economies. When a Capitalist Fascist is considered "a strong leader", a Communist, who is good at getting people to work together, "rules with an iron-fist".
The State of the Indonesian Union is Mucho Better
Submitted by Anonymous on 18 February 2009 - 5:06pmI don't dispute that credit unions are the superior form of "thrift" institution. I have my money in a credit union.
My exception is with the Capitalist system which assumes that money will be worth less (eventually, and getting closer all the time, worthless).
If such a Moslem law were passed worldwide, the banning of all loan interest as usury, there would be no need for unions to pay out "dividends" and charge "interest", that is only slightly less usurious and inflationary than Bank loans. The lender, the saver, is the winner, and the borrower the loser in such transactions. But does the dividend really cover the inflationary spiral of the dysfunctional Capitalist system?

With respect to the "nature of wealth", I think that the "quality of life" paradigm in lieu of the "standard of living" paradigm needs to be stressed.
