An evening of Honduran music and resistance
Latin American Solidarity Organization is pleased to present singer and activist Karla Lara, a Honduran native who will perform with local musicians at Traditions Cafe. Lara will address through her music the violence and turmoil in Honduras after last year's coup outsted the elected government of the people, along with feminist struggle in Latin America.
Joining Lara to speak will be Honduran organizers Oliver Hernan Valladares and Carmen Daly. Valladares was attacked in his country by police last year during a protest that nearly cost him his life. Daly will speak toward the recent history of Honduras before the coup and what social advancements were stunted due to the new coup government's activity in power.
Tickets for the event will range from $10-25 to support the international outreach Honduras seeks in these tumultuous times.
