A Feminist's Place is in the Union Struggle
Looking for a job, decent wages, benefits and respect? Share ideas on the power of collectively standing up to management greed and discrimination! Working women are a courageous force for building a militant, democratic labor movement that fights for the lowest-paid workers and the needs of society's most vulnerable. Hear panelists Doreen McGrath, tech worker and PTE Local 17 delegate to the Martin Luther King County Labor Council; Roger Yockey, veteran organizer and author of People Are #1, a history of Seattle's 81-day grocery workers strike in 1989; and Megan Cornish, pioneering electrical tradeswoman at Seattle City Light and co-author of Women Workers: Sparkplugs of Labor. Add your experiences and thoughts on how to defend women's rights in the workplace and increase feminist leadership within organized labor.
Dinner is served at 6:30pm for a $7.50 donation.
