KOWA Gathering

KOWA-LP 106.5 FM is changing the nature of its conversation. We have begun speaking about the restoration of our community through a series of gatherings aimed at developing accountability and commitment, so we can create a relatedness to one another able to transform. In our last gathering we discussed the future of KOWA, KOWA's present state , and our gifts we bring to the radio station.
The progression is going to take civic engagement and a focus on re-framing our organization if we are to change its current fragmentation, to a future of providing voices for individuals, organization, and movements who work for social justice, economic democracy, ecological sustainability, and peace. To create this future that is distinct and not predicted by its past, we will be shifting our language to one that embraces commitment and accountability with relatedness.
We have a vision already in place. Based on this mission statement, we must grow the social capital necessary to maintain the energy and faith for developing a positive future for KOWA-LP 106.5FM. There should be no disillusion about the fact that there is both an emotional and economic price to pay if we seek to move forward. However, by changing the way we create our conversations and overcome the fragmented nature of our community, we can create an alternative future that fulfills our mission requirements and increases our capability to do so efficiently.

Adams Street, Olympia WA and help us transform our community radio station into a true resource for our neighbors and city dwellers.
