New Business/Events:
Isreal / Palestine Co-op under fire. Can Media Island host films?
Discussion proceeded of films MII might present on Issue:
-Johannesburg What's the word? (Title?) -Occupation 101
-The Wall
We agreed to look into options over coming week.
House Maintainance:
Electrical -sub-panel purchase stalled. Questions were raised about need for panel upstairs and whether to wire in exising panel
Rick will try to connect existing wiring over next two weeks.
TCTV Update -Brinden heard Media Island TCTV membership was expired. (Sandia Slaby is our liason)
Rick is fairly sure it was paid at time of Dish Network and Democracy Now! payments. Sandia says that we are paying by providing Dish Network and Democracy Now! to TCTV.
Jean Cade Welcome!
Jean Cade (The person who donated his house to MII in 1997) has returned to Oly after 4 years in Costa Rica and 10 years in Spokane.
He will be staying for a while at the house upstairs as he settles back in to Olympia and can fill some of the caretaker role during this time.
He is also interested in a range of issues to work on.

Discussion was about process and whether to advertise further for candidates
-Some level of committment required 6 months or a year,
-Accepting limits on time of 1 year as a rotating activist in residence (with board option of extension)
-Spokes council helps line up and assess candidates and criterion, but board retains decision
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
-Really Free Market Saturday @ Woodruff PK 11- 4 Sunday @ Bigelow Pk. 11-4
-Police Chief position opening up Steve Hall will have open meeting Wednesday 11th 6:00pm
-Citizens Campaign for Public Power in Olympia will be forming (Pacific County citizens passed utility purchase will occur in 3 years w/o contest).
-Arson against new City hall will cost taxpayers and delay opening 5 months.
-Stitch and Bitch Augst 25 @ MII 6:00 - 8:00pm
-Buffalo Field Campaign coming to Traditipons in September
-Sweat Free campaign meeting in Olympia Nov 5th to 7th Housing will needed for 570-0848 (Bob Ziegler)
-PMR Trial tomorrow! Carpools are happening (Berd organizing) trial may go on for days, Daniel Ellsberg will be at trial Thurday
-Tuesday Aug 24th 6:00 Field trip to Film Society: Countdown To Zero This will be instead of MII Mtg.
