PA Child Care/ Western PA Child Care

I just recently started reading about the Luzurne County Judges charged with the inappropiate incarceration of the young people who come before them and their favoring the juvinile prisons, known as PA Child Care and Western PA Child Care.

While these types of Juvilile Facilities, as they like to call themslves are necessary in some instances, they are very unessary for a first time offender and can do more harm then good.

Many people would shudder to realize what these facilities are like. They are in fact a high security prison. From outside you are buzzed into a single room. From there you talk to a person who is in what can be described as a control room with monitors that can allow them to see what is going on in the halls and the units. If you are to go into the facility you then are buzzed into a very small room with another door with an electronic lock, that is not released until the first door closes and locks. These doors are very heavy when they close it is like the sounds you hear on TV of the prison gates going shut on the prisoners. This is not a very nice sound and can be very intimidating for an adult, let alone a scared teenager. But before they get this far, the children are searched and there personal items are put into storage and they are issued clothing approved of by the company. They are then put into a unit and assigned a room (a small room) that they share with another person. Each unit has a control room and at night the rooms are electornically locked. Or at anytime a situation arizes that the children are sent to there room and locked down for there safety or that of the employees. As I said before these prisions are necessary for the repeated or violent offender, but are very unacceptable for the first time.
For what these judges did to these children, 7 years just does not seem just punishment. They sentenced these kids to the harshest place they could for a few bucks. To be able to plead it down to 7 years is ludicrus. They have done more harm here they could have ever done good.
And what about the bribers? Are they going to walk away scot free? These two facilities have made a small fortune since they opened there doors on the backs of these children that they paid kick-backs on. They should also be held accountable for there actions. That is what they preach to these kids.
Like I said this is one person's opinion. Are the children involved going to be told suck it up. Justice is a one way street or are all criminals going to be held accountable? I always thought it was just as illeagal to bribe an official as it was for an official to accept a bribe.
