Strategizing Meeting: Mobilize to Tax the Rich!
Join the next SOS meeting to build for a community forum on October 16th about the need to tax the rich and why people should vote yes on Initiative 1098. We’ll make calls to supporters, prep mailings, brainstorm other outreach ideas and more.
With the recent news about the state budget shortfall in the upcoming legislative session and programs such as Basic Health again on the chopping block, it is up to us to push for real funding solutions! I-1098 would fund education and health care by establishing a tax on individuals earning over $200,000 and couples earning above $400,000. I-1098 is an important step in changing Washington’s regressive tax structure.
We’ll also have some analysis about other initiatives that will be on the ballot in November. Meeting attendees will get the chance to discuss & share their opinions. Everyone is encouraged to attend!
Sisters Organize for Survival (SOS) is mobilizing grassroots support a tax on the wealthy to pay for education and health care.
