Using the Space at Media Island
Media Island International (MII) is available to host your meetings or events!
MII has room for small or medium-sized meetings & gatherings for up to 20 or so people comfortably.
For an event, the Space can hold from 40 to 50 people (which would be a bit tighter with some standing room).
Events would include things like a presentation, guest speakers, spoken word, film showings, acoustic or small amped music, as well as meals like dinner events, potlucks, or brunches, which can be accommodated for up to 30 people or so pretty well. We have a full kitchen and only 1 fridge, but you can use all the cooking and serving ware.
Our policy is here to guide the kinds of events we want to support which further our, and hopefully your, Mission to make the world a better place. We welcome events and groups who are looking to respect the goals and objectives of this organization, which include fostering education and understanding on issues related to social justice. We invite you to speak with us about your intentions & goals, and reserve right to give final approval of specific proposals.
Keep in mind that while we would like to be, we are not currently in a position to take on promoting or publicizing your awesome event, other than listing it on our calendar. We can speak with you about options for doing publicity, if you would like that, since some people are very experienced and others less so, and we do want to see your event be the raging success you desire.
